Abia Rep Ikwechegh Defects to Labour Party, Meets Otti

Ikwechegh, a member representing the Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency in the Abia State House of Representatives, has officially defected to the Labour Party (LP) after resigning from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) four days prior. His resignation from APGA was confirmed by the party's executives in Aba.

Following his defection, Ikwechegh held a closed-door meeting with Abia State Governor Alex Otti, although the details of their discussion were not disclosed immediately. Political analysts believe that this development will strengthen the Labour Party's structure in Aba and across Abia State.

The chairman of APGA in Abia State, Sunday Onukwubiri, stated that the party remains united and peaceful despite Ikwechegh's exit, emphasizing a commitment to strengthening the party.
