Abia Government Warns Against Planned Protests

The Abia State Government, through a statement issued by Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, has alerted the public to a plot by certain political actors to sponsor protests against Governor Otti. This plan is reportedly aimed at destabilizing the state, with intelligence reports indicating that individuals are mobilizing miscreants from neighboring states to stage protests under the guise of supporting President Tinubu's administration.

Ekeoma described these planned protests as attempts to promote false narratives regarding federal government funding for projects currently being executed by the state government. He reiterated previous clarifications regarding the discontinuation of federal refunds for projects.

The government has warned that such actions could trigger confrontations and escalate violence, leading to a breakdown of law and order. In light of this, the government has committed to taking decisive action against any individuals or groups found to be endangering public safety and has urged parents to advise their children against participating in politically motivated protests.
