Lagos Residents Demand Completion of Abandoned Road Project

Residents of Lagos, particularly in the Irawo area, have raised concerns regarding the poor condition of Ondo Street, which is part of a road project that began in October 2022 and was reportedly completed in December 2022. However, local resident Ademola claims that only a small portion of the road was rehabilitated, with construction allegedly halting around Ojomo Plaza, leaving significant stretches in a dilapidated state.

As the rainy season approaches, residents fear that the situation will worsen, making the road impassable. Ademola has appealed to Senator Tokunbo Abiru, the project sponsor, to revisit the site and ensure the entire stretch of the road is properly completed to facilitate movement and prevent further deterioration.

The Community Development Association (CDA) chairman, Mr. Abdul, corroborated Ademola's claims but did not provide further comments at the time of the report.
