Abramovich Offers to Relay Message to Putin, Says Zelenskyy

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, revealed that Russian businessman Roman Abramovich approached Kyiv with an offer to act as an intermediary to pass a private message to Vladimir Putin concerning potential peace talks. Zelenskyy emphasized that the message to Putin was clear: Ukraine would not concede any territory.

He stated that he would not engage in direct discussions with the Russian President regarding peace negotiations. Abramovich's interactions with the Ukrainian President have not been publicly acknowledged, and he is a target of sanctions in the UK due to his connections with the Russian state.

Following the outbreak of the Ukrainian conflict, Abramovich had previously participated in aborted peace negotiations. The ongoing conflict has led to severe civilian casualties, and Ukraine continues to face attacks from Russian drones and missiles.
