Abuja-Kaduna Highway 80% Complete, Set for April Delivery

The Abuja-Kaduna highway project has reached 80% completion and is set for delivery by the end of April. The Federal Ministry of Works confirmed this progress during an inspection tour as part of a national media tour.

The project, which spans 60 kilometers, involves a redesign to include reinforced concrete pavement instead of traditional asphalt, aimed at enhancing durability and reducing maintenance frequency. Chukwuma Kalu, overseeing the project, emphasized the government's commitment to fast-tracking this strategic transport corridor, which connects Abuja to the northern regions of Nigeria.

The project includes a 40.5-kilometer dual carriageway, an 81-kilometer combined lane, and additional sections linking to Kano and Zaria. Robert Turner, Senior Project Manager at Infouest Nigeria Limited, reiterated the company's dedication to completing the project on schedule, with construction teams working day and night shifts to meet the deadline.
