Abuja-Kaduna Highway 80% Complete, Set for April Finish

The Federal Government of Nigeria announced that the Abuja-Kaduna highway project has reached 80% completion, with a total length of 81 kilometers. The redesign includes a shift from asphalt to rigid concrete pavement to enhance durability and reduce maintenance frequency.

Chukwuma Kalu, a representative from Infouest Nigeria Limited, confirmed that 60 kilometers of the concrete pavement has already been delivered, with the remaining sections scheduled for completion by the end of April. The project, which was previously managed by Julius Berger Nigeria PLC, faced delays and challenges, prompting the government to re-award the contract to Infouest Nigeria Limited.

Kalu emphasized the importance of the highway as a critical transport corridor linking northern Nigeria and stated that construction teams are working day and night to meet the deadline. Robert Turner, a senior project manager, reiterated the commitment to completing the project on time, which is vital for economic and social connectivity in the region.
