Abuja Stadium to Undergo N24 Billion Upgrade in Nigeria's Sports Infrastructure Plan

The National Sports Commission (NSC) plans to spend N24 billion from its N203 billion budget to upgrade the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. The stadium, opened in 2003, has deteriorated and was deemed unfit to host major competitions.

The renovation includes installing new features like a digital scoreboard and a two-year maintenance plan. Despite the facelift, the pitch deteriorated quickly, leading the national team to relocate home matches.

The NSC aims to revitalize Nigeria's sports infrastructure, with a focus on enhancing facilities and hosting major competitions.
