Nigeria to Spend ₦24.6 Billion on Abuja Stadium Upgrade

The Nigerian government is set to invest ₦24.6 billion in upgrading the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, as part of efforts to enhance the nation's sports infrastructure. The stadium, declared unfit for major international competitions, will undergo renovations including the installation of modern facilities.

Despite previous renovation attempts, the pitch's poor condition led to the Super Eagles relocating their matches. The project, expected to commence by the end of 2025, aims to bring the stadium up to international standards.
