FRSC Advises Motorists on Abuja-Kaduna Traffic Issues

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has issued a statement urging motorists to utilize the Kachia-Bwari route instead of the congested Abuja-Kaduna highway. This recommendation comes as traffic has significantly increased due to ongoing road construction activities and recent rainfall, which have slowed vehicular movement.

Andrew Longkam, the Kaduna Sector Commander of the FRSC, indicated that the Nasarawa-Azara stretch, particularly around Katari and Jere town, is heavily affected, causing significant delays for motorists. Longkam attributed the congestion to poor driving habits, including impatience and failure to observe lane discipline.

To alleviate the situation, the FRSC has deployed additional personnel in collaboration with the Nigerian Army to control traffic flow. Motorists are advised to cooperate with traffic officials and adhere to road safety regulations.

The FRSC also cautioned against night travel and urged drivers to maintain lane discipline and ensure their vehicles are roadworthy during the festive period.
