Abuja-Kaduna Road Reconstruction to Finish by April 2024

The Federal Government of Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to completing the reconstruction of the Abuja-Kaduna road, with Mr. Moham Ahmad, Director of Public Relations at the Ministry of Works, announcing the project’s expected completion by the end of April 2024.

During a site tour, Ahmad disclosed that the road, which links the North Central and Northern regions, is being redesigned with asphalt pavement and reinforced concrete pavement (CRCP) to ensure durability and longevity. The project, divided into two lots, includes a 40.5-kilometer dual carriageway CRCP stretch and a 17.3-kilometer asphalt section.

Chukwuma Kalu, the project engineer, reported that 80% of the work is complete, with ongoing construction activities taking place day and night to meet deadlines. The project aims to enhance transport infrastructure, reduce travel time, and create economic opportunities.

Additionally, the Federal Government is undertaking other road rehabilitation projects in the Federal Capital Territory.
