Access Bank Denies Shutdown Rumors, Assures Operations Continue

Access Bank Plc has officially refuted rumors of a shutdown that have been circulating on social media and WhatsApp, labeling the claims as false. In a statement, the bank reassured its customers and stakeholders that all banking operations and subsidiaries are functioning normally and providing uninterrupted services.

Access Bank is actively working with relevant regulatory and law enforcement agencies to identify the individuals responsible for spreading the misinformation. The bank has indicated that it will take legal action against anyone found culpable, in accordance with the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) (Amendment) Act, 2024, specifically citing Section 24, which addresses the creation and dissemination of false information that can cause public alarm or damage reputations.

Access Bank urged the public to disregard the fake notice and to rely solely on information from its official communication channels. The bank expressed gratitude to its customers, partners, and stakeholders for their continued trust and confidence.
