Access Bank and PMI Collaborate to Boost Women's Project Management Skills

Access Bank Plc, through its W Initiative, has partnered with the Project Management Institute (PMI) to improve Nigerian women's access to globally recognized project management certifications. This initiative responds to ongoing gender disparities in Nigeria's formal private sector, where women represent about half of the workforce but hold only one in three entry-level positions.
The PMI's report indicates that men globally outnumber women in project management by three to one. The partnership aims to bridge this gap by offering eligible women a 25 percent discount on examination fees for PMI's Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) and Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications.
Additionally, PMI Authorized Training Partners will provide discounts of up to 50 percent on examination preparation courses until December 2026. George Asamani, Managing Director of PMI Sub-Saharan Africa, emphasized the need for more skilled professionals in Nigeria, highlighting women's crucial role in fulfilling this demand.
