Accord Party Reaffirms Support for Adeleke, Denies Tinubu Pact

The Accord Party has officially denied claims of endorsing President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 elections, reaffirming its support for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke in the upcoming governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026. During a press conference in Abuja, the party's chairman, Maxwell Mgbudem, clarified that their focus remains on consolidating support for Adeleke, dismissing any notion of a political pact with Tinubu.

Mgbudem highlighted that the party is not afraid of opposition and is confident in Adeleke's performance, which he believes will lead to a significant victory. The statement comes amid rising political activity in the lead-up to the Ekiti and Osun governorship polls.

Mgbudem also addressed internal party dynamics, refuting claims of a leadership crisis following the expulsion of former presidential candidate Christoph Imumolen, who sought recognition from the party. He insisted that there are no factions within Accord and that the party is united in its goals for the upcoming elections.
