Accord Party Backs Adeleke, Denies Tinubu Endorsement

On Thursday, the Accord Party officially denied claims that it endorsed President Bola Tinubu, reaffirming its support for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke in the upcoming 2027 governorship election. Maxwel Mgbudem, the national chairman of the Accord Party, made this announcement during a press conference in Abuja.

He emphasized that the party's focus is on supporting Adeleke, whose candidacy will be communicated to the media after the party's primaries. This clarification follows controversy surrounding a billboard in Iwo, Osun State, which featured images of both Tinubu and Adeleke, leading to accusations from the All Progressives Congress (APC) that Adeleke was exploiting the president's image.

Mgbudem expressed confidence in Adeleke's chances for re-election, stating that the people of Osun State are eager to vote for him again. He also dismissed reports of any leadership crisis within the Accord Party, asserting that there are no factions or court orders favoring any individual.
