Accord Party Demands EFCC Chair's Resignation Over Freeze

The Accord Party has demanded the resignation of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Chairman Ola Olukoyede due to the freezing of Osun State Government’s bank accounts. The party praised President Bola Tinubu for directing the EFCC to unfreeze these accounts, describing his intervention as timely.

Chief Maxwell Mgbudem, the National Chairman of Accord, stated that the party has lost confidence in the EFCC's leadership, alleging partisanship in Osun State politics ahead of the August 15 governorship election. Mgbudem emphasized that the EFCC chairman should resign for embarrassing the President and the people of Osun State.

He urged that if Olukoyede does not resign, President Tinubu should dismiss him to restore the EFCC's integrity. The party also called for impartiality from security agencies during the election and urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure a credible electoral process.
