Osun 2026: Oyebamiji Denies Alliance with Tinubu

A political conflict has arisen in Osun State concerning allegations of support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the lead-up to the 2026 governorship election. Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the APC governorship candidate, refuted claims of an alliance with Tinubu, asserting his loyalty to the party and highlighting his public service record.

The Ambo Media Front, represented by Adebayo Adedeji, labeled the reports as false and misleading, arguing that Tinubu does not support the re-election of the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke. In response, Adeleke's group emphasized the governor's popularity among various demographic groups in the state.

Oyebamiji accused former governor Adegboyega Oyetola of actions that could embarrass the presidency and deepen divisions within the APC. The internal disagreements have led to dissatisfaction among party members, with concerns about the imposition of candidates and the need for genuine support for the presidency.
