Falegan Promises Development and Pension Reforms in Ekiti

Opeyemi Falegan, the Accord Party's candidate for the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election, has pledged to improve development and welfare for the state's citizens. Speaking in Ado Ekiti during an interaction with leaders from the Nigeria Union Pension, he emphasized the importance of addressing pension issues for retirees, many of whom have served the state for decades.

Falegan criticized the current administration under Governor Biodun Oyebanji, claiming that it has failed to adequately address the backlog of gratuities owed to retirees. He assured that if elected, pension welfare would be a top priority, and he would ensure that retirees are treated with the dignity they deserve.

Falegan also urged eligible voters to obtain their permanent voter cards to participate in the upcoming elections on June 20, 2026. Temitop Popoola, the state chairman of the Nigeria Union Pension, commended Falegan's visit, highlighting it as a gesture of respect and concern for senior citizens in Ekiti.
