NERDC Denies Fake Funding Request for Education Curriculum

The Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) has issued a disclaimer regarding a fraudulent document circulating that requests financial support for the production, printing, and distribution of the Revised Basic Education Curriculum (BEC) for the 2026/2027 academic session. On Monday in Abuja, Executive Secretary Professor Salisu Shehu described the document as fictitious, frivolous, and unauthorized.

He emphasized that NERDC has not issued any correspondence seeking financial assistance for this purpose and urged the public to ignore such requests. The statement, personally signed by Shehu, reassured stakeholders that adequate plans are in place for the effective production and distribution of the revised curriculum through appropriate federal and state authorities.

NERDC remains committed to maintaining the integrity of Nigeria’s national curriculum and will communicate all legitimate information through its official channels.
