ACF Calls for Security Overhaul Amid Rising Attacks

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), a pan-northern socio-political organization, issued a statement on Wednesday expressing deep concern over a recent wave of violent attacks across several states in Nigeria. The forum highlighted a bomb blast in Maiduguri, Borno State, which reportedly resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries.

They noted that this explosion occurred shortly after an attack on military formations, leading to casualties among soldiers and the destruction of military assets. The ACF also referenced violent incidents in Plateau State and assaults on security personnel by armed groups, linking these attacks to known insurgent groups.

The forum described the ongoing violence as a coordinated effort by extremist groups aimed at undermining national stability. They condemned the attacks as cowardly and called for a comprehensive overhaul of Nigeria's security strategies, urging the government to act decisively to prevent further deterioration of the security situation and avert a potential slide into anarchy.
