ACF Accuses Kaduna Police of Illegally Sealing Secretariat

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has accused the Kaduna State Police Command of unlawfully sealing its secretariat in Kaduna, claiming the action was taken without a court order and lacked legal basis. This incident occurred as the ACF prepared for a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting scheduled for Wednesday.

ACF Chairman Prof. Tukur Muhammad Baba described the police's actions as unwarranted and emphasized that there was no security threat justifying such measures.

The police, represented by DSP Mansur Hassan, stated that they acted to prevent a potential clash between two factions within the ACF, which had been embroiled in a leadership dispute. The police had received intelligence about plans for rival meetings at the same venue.

The ACF has called for the Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu, to intervene and unseal their secretariat, asserting that their previous meetings had been peaceful and that the police's actions were unnecessary.
