ACF Accuses Police of Illegally Sealing Kaduna Secretariat

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) accused the Kaduna State Police Command of illegally sealing its secretariat in Kaduna ahead of a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting scheduled for Wednesday, May 6, 2026. ACF described the police action as unwarranted and lacking legal basis, asserting that the police sealed its office without a court order.

The ACF's statement, issued by Prof. Tukur Muhammad Baba, highlighted that the police's actions were unjustified, especially since previous meetings had been conducted peacefully with relevant security agencies notified.

The police, represented by DSP Mansur Hassan, denied the allegations, stating that they deployed officers to prevent a potential clash between rival factions within the ACF, following intelligence received about their plans to hold meetings simultaneously. The ACF called for the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to intervene and unseal their secretariat, emphasizing that there was no security threat justifying the police's actions.
