Emeka Ike Protests NDC Primaries at INEC Office

Emeka Ike, a Nollywood actor, expressed his dissatisfaction with the conduct of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries by storming the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Abuja on a Friday. He arrived at the INEC office located in Area 10 alongside others, forcefully demanding explanations regarding the suspicious presence of unidentified individuals he claimed were associated with the NDC.

Video footage captured the heated confrontation, where Ike alleged that vehicles were conveying NDC officials who were hidden away in a corner of the facility. He stated that the NDC needed to address these issues, emphasizing that the primaries were scheduled for that day.

However, INEC officials countered Ike's claims, clarifying that no partisan activities were taking place at the location, and that the premises were simply hosting routine voter revalidation and Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercises open to the public. The situation was further complicated by the context of the upcoming presidential election in 2027, with former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi expected to contest.
