Actors Guild Seeks Stronger Ties with Globacom for Nollywood

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has praised Globacom for its steadfast patronage of the creative industry and is seeking a deeper strategic alliance to further elevate the fortunes of Nollywood practitioners. During a recent visit to Globacom's headquarters, AGN's national president, Sanusi Abubakar Yakubu, expressed gratitude for the telecom company's early support, which has significantly contributed to enhancing the public perception of actors and the industry.

Globacom has been recognized as a leading indigenous telecommunications company in Nigeria, fostering a symbiotic relationship with Nollywood through sponsorships and media investments. Yakubu also unveiled plans for an upcoming award ceremony aimed at celebrating excellence within the industry, emphasizing the need for a renewed collaboration with Globacom.

Sunni McDon, a secretary on the AGN board of trustees, spoke about the potential benefits of this renewed alliance, while Balasubramanian Ramanathan, Globacom's director of marketing communications, reaffirmed the company's commitment to the creative economy, describing Nollywood as a vital component of Nigeria's cultural and commercial landscape.
