AGN Hosts Free Health Checks and Walk for Actors

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) organized a free health check and health walk in Abuja on a Saturday, as part of its 2026 annual health campaign. The event commenced in the Gudu District of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and involved a significant turnout from actors.

Participants received free screenings for sugar levels, high blood pressure, malaria, hepatitis B and C, HIV/AIDS, and eye examinations. AGN's ambassador, Mercy Salma Aminu, emphasized the importance of prioritizing health to avoid imminent health breakdowns.

She noted that regular check-ups should be a part of every actor's routine. Abubakar Yakubu, the national president of AGN, highlighted the challenges actors face in maintaining a healthy lifestyle due to the demanding nature of the industry.

The campaign also encouraged actors to enroll in the guild's health insurance program for accessible medical attention. The initiative aimed to curb health challenges within the Nollywood community and promote overall well-being.
