Binani Faction of ADC Rejects Congress, Considers Defection

The crisis within the Adamawa State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has escalated, particularly among the faction loyal to Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani. This faction has rejected the party congress conducted last week, which they claim excluded them.

They specifically accuse Hon. Sadiq Dasin, the state party chairman, and Engr. Babachir David Lawal, the party's national vice chairman for the northeast, of collusion in organizing the congress without their participation. The faction convened a meeting in Abuja, attended by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, to discuss their grievances and strategize their next political moves.

Senator Ahm Barata emphasized the need for patience among supporters, asserting that the issues would be resolved at the highest levels. The Binani faction has expressed dissatisfaction with the party's current direction and is contemplating defection if their concerns are not addressed.
