APC Governorship Aspirant Maurice Vunobolki Resigns

Maurice Vunobolki, a governorship aspirant for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, announced his resignation from the party during a press conference on Tuesday in Yola. He cited a lack of transparency and fairness in the party's primary election processes, alleging that there were plans to impose candidates rather than allowing democratic choices.

Vunobolki accused the current governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, of compromising the integrity of the party and failing to uphold promises of a transparent and fair electoral process. He expressed concerns that the APC was facing a crisis that could affect its credibility in the upcoming general elections, pointing to evidence of irregular membership registrations.

Vunobolki's resignation took effect on April 13, 2026, and he called for support across the 21 local governments in Adamawa State as he seeks to pursue a credible democratic platform.
