PDP Names Maurice Vunobolki as Adamawa Governorship Candidate

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has officially affirmed Maurice Vunobolki as its sole governorship candidate for the 2027 elections in Adamawa State. This decision was made during a delegate gathering in Yola, where representatives from all 21 local government areas of the state convened.

Vunobolki's candidacy was endorsed amidst the absence of other aspirants, including Caleb Andrew Myebangara, who sought the ticket but did not appear at the event. Mahmud Ribadu, associated with a faction of the party not recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), was also mentioned.

The endorsement was seconded by Ja Afaru Ribadu and supported by Ibrahim Jimeta, the chairman of the Yola North local government. Following a voice vote, the chairman of the PDP governorship primary in Adamawa State, Debo Ologunagba, declared Vunobolki as the nominee.

In his acceptance speech, Vunobolki urged PDP members to support him in order to win the upcoming general elections, emphasizing his commitment to addressing the challenges facing the state.
