Adamawa Governorship Aspirant Vunovolki Leaves APC

Maurice Vunovolki announced his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) on April 13, two months after declaring his intent to vie for the gubernatorial ticket. During a press conference in Yola, he expressed dissatisfaction with the party's commitment to principles of equity and fair internal democracy.

Vunovolki attributed his decision to the party's failure to uphold these principles and highlighted concerns regarding irregularities in membership registration, which he claimed were aimed at manipulating electoral processes. He emphasized that the political environment in Adamawa State is increasingly tilted towards imposed decisions rather than democratic choices, leading to a lack of transparency and credibility.

Vunovolki's exit from the APC allows him to pursue his aspirations on a platform that guarantees equal opportunities and transparency, as he seeks support across the 21 local government areas of the state.
