Adamawa State Concludes Recruitment of 5,000 Teachers to Drive Educational Development

The Adamawa State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Garba Pella, announced the completion of the recruitment process to hire an additional 5,000 teachers to enhance educational development in the state. The recruitment drive, initiated in late 2025, included screening and interviews, with 21 model basic education schools already built and 68 secondary schools rehabilitated.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri's administration had previously employed 2,000 teachers and aimed to address the shortage by recruiting 5,000 more teachers. The state government, in collaboration with the Education Emergency Working Group (EEWG), also plans to integrate the Almajiri system into formal learning centers to provide English and Mathematics instruction, reducing the number of out-of-school children.

The initiative aligns with the theme of commemorating the International Day of Education, focusing on empowering youth and co-creating education opportunities.
