Adamawa Elevates Court Registrars; Benue Nurses Face Strike Challenges

Adamawa State has promoted six court registrars to magistrates. In Benue State, the NANNM chapter is experiencing issues with ongoing strikes at BSUTH.

Tahav Kershio, the state chairman of NANNM, condemned alleged intimidation and threats against nurses, describing them as outdated and counterproductive to conflict resolution. Kershio highlighted concerns about unpaid salaries for newly employed nurses and older staff members receiving partial payments.

The union accuses BSUTH management of sabotaging efforts to resolve the crisis, with over 100 nurses reportedly owed arrears dating back to 2023. Kershio called for urgent government intervention to prevent further escalation of the crisis and restore industrial harmony in the hospital.

Governor Hyacinth Alia's efforts to improve the state's health sector were acknowledged, but the NANNM chairman dismissed claims of political motivations and lack of interest in the hospital's welfare.
