Adamawa Electoral Commission Screens Candidates for Local Council Elections

The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) has initiated the screening of candidates for the forthcoming local government elections set for July 11. The current council officials' tenure, elected in July 2019, will conclude on July 13, 2024.

Political parties such as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) are actively involved in the screening exercise. Alhaji Muhammadagali, the Chairman of ADSIEC, has assured political parties and candidates of a fair and law-abiding process.

The screening process includes verifying candidates' documents and ensuring adequate security measures for a smooth electoral exercise.
