Adamawa State Launches Committee to Hire 5,000 Teachers

The Adamawa State Government has inaugurated a committee to recruit 5,000 teachers from a pool of 18,000 applicants. The committee is composed of representatives from various educational and governmental bodies, including the Ministry of Education, Human Capital Development, the Post Primary School Management Board (PPSMB), the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), and the State Civil Service Commission.

Aisha Abubakar Umar serves as the acting executive secretary of the PPSMB, while Umar Garba Pella presides over the committee as co-chair. The committee has a two-week timeframe to screen and select the candidates.

Pella emphasized the importance of ensuring that the recruitment process reflects the administration's commitment to fairness and integrity, urging committee members to avoid any form of misconduct or personal interest during the selection process.
