PDP Inaugurates Caretaker Committees in Adamawa State

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State inaugurated caretaker committees for 21 local government areas after the departure of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, who officially announced his defection from the party on February 27. The new temporary leadership includes a chairman, secretary, and three ex-officio members for each local council area.

John Tunoh, a legal practitioner, administered the oath of office to the interim committee members, who are tasked with managing party affairs and conducting elections in accordance with the PDP constitution. During the inauguration ceremony in Yola, interim PDP chairman Belmont Dogo emphasized the importance of strengthening the party at the grassroots level.

Inuwa Umar, the caretaker chairman for Fufor local government area, pledged to contribute to the party's growth. The PDP in Adamawa State is seeking new strategies to regain member confidence, especially after notable departures, including that of Governor Fintiri.
