ADC Announces New Venue for National Convention in Abuja

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially announced that its national convention will take place on Tuesday at the Rainbow Event Center located in Abuja. This decision comes after earlier concerns regarding the availability of a secure venue.

Kola Ologbondiyan, the media aide to the embattled national chairman of the ADC, Senator David Mark, indicated that the party had made formal requests to the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, for the use of Eagle Square but received no response. Despite acknowledging the request, Wike denied any formal application had been received and emphasized that Eagle Square remains open for groups that follow due process and pay the required fees.

The ADC also explored alternative venues, including the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, but these efforts were unsuccessful. The announcement of the new venue comes less than 24 hours before the convention, highlighting the urgency and challenges faced by the party in securing a location.
