ADC Chieftain Demands Judge's Recusal Over Bias Claims

Nkemakolam Ukandu, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has formally requested that Hon. Justice Liman Suleiman recuse himself from hearing a case involving the party.

This request was made on the grounds of alleged bias, as Ukandu claims that the judge has shown favoritism towards the interests of Nyesom Wike, which he believes could undermine the ADC's position in Nigerian politics. The case, filed under suit number FHC/ABJ/CS/1637/2025, involves Hon.

Leke Joseph Abejid challenging the leadership of the ADC, particularly the manner in which David Mark and others assumed leadership roles. Ukandu's counsel argues that the judge lacks jurisdiction to entertain the application due to the alleged bias.

The hearing is scheduled for a date to be determined, and Ukandu has requested that the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court reassign the case to another court.
