ADC Chieftain Nwobu Reflects on Peter Obi's Departure

Ndubuisi Nwobu, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), acknowledged the painful departure of Peter Obi, a former presidential candidate, from the party. During a consultative meeting with ADC leaders in Awka, Anambra State, held on Friday, Nwobu stated that despite this setback, the spirit within the Anambra chapter of the ADC remains high.

He pointed out that divisions within opposition parties hinder their chances of winning the 2027 elections. Nwobu expressed confidence that by the end of November, there would be a collective understanding among opposition parties to unite for the upcoming elections.

He also reported that nine aspirants have picked nomination forms to contest for the Anambra State House of Assembly, with six others having obtained forms as well. Nwobu reaffirmed loyalty and support for the national leadership of the ADC, which is headed by David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola.
