ADC Chieftain Advocates for Ogoni Governor in Rivers

Joe Korka Waadah, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has called for the election of an Ogoni-born governor in Rivers State during the 2027 general elections. Speaking in Port Harcourt, Waadah highlighted the importance of political representation for the Ogoni people and criticized the prolonged marginalization they have faced.

He referenced the need for a strategic roadmap to address the political procrastination that has historically affected the region. Waadah also mentioned the support of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, for an Ogoni-born candidate.

He underscored the significance of Dr. Gabriel Pidomson's emergence as a candidate for the ADC, framing it as a response to the broken centralized political system.

Waadah noted that the current political climate in Rivers State has been marked by conflict and factionalism, urging the need for grassroots mobilization to support Pidomson's candidacy and to end the ongoing marginalization of the Ogoni nation.
