Eight Aspirants Seek Rivers ADC Governorship Ticket

Eight prominent individuals have indicated their interest in contesting for the Rivers State governorship on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 general elections. This announcement was made by the ADC chairman, Dr. Chukwudi Dimkpa, during a statement issued in Port Harcourt on a Sunday night.

Among those showing interest are former public office holders, technocrats, and respected professionals from the private sector. Notable figures include a former secretary of Rivers State, a former member of the House of Representatives, and a former executive director at the Nigerian Ports Authority.

Dimkpa highlighted that the ADC is increasingly viewed as a credible alternative for political engagement in Rivers State, reflecting a significant shift in public confidence towards the party. The ADC remains committed to a transparent internal democratic process as it prepares for the upcoming elections, aiming to attract credible candidates and engage the youth in politics.
