ADC Chieftain Questions AEDC Power Outage During Elections

An ADC chieftain, identified as Okai, has expressed alarm over the planned power outage by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) coinciding with the FCT council elections scheduled for Saturday. The AEDC announced on Friday that major maintenance would be conducted across its facilities in the nation's capital, with power cuts expected from 9 AM to 1 PM.

This timing overlaps with the electoral process, raising concerns about voter access. Okai questioned the rationale behind the power outage during such a critical time and highlighted the potential for limited internet access due to telecommunications disruptions during the elections.

He described the situation as deeply troubling and unfair to voters in the FCT, emphasizing the need for uninterrupted power and communication during the electoral process.
