ADC Chieftain Okai Criticizes AEDC Power Outage During Elections

Austin Okai, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), voiced his concerns regarding the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company's (AEDC) announcement of a planned power outage during the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) council elections. The AEDC disclosed on its Facebook page that major maintenance would occur on Saturday, the same day the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is set to conduct the elections.

The maintenance is scheduled to take place from 1 PM to 4 PM. Okai took to Facebook to question the rationale behind the power cut coinciding with the election period, expressing that it could unfairly affect voters in the FCT.

He also highlighted concerns regarding reports of potential limitations on internet access during the elections, further emphasizing the troubling nature of these developments.
