ADC to Select Presidential Candidate Amid Disagreements

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) will select its presidential candidate today, as contenders have failed to reach an agreement on a consensus. Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, ADC's national secretary, described the primary as a defining democratic moment for the party, which aims to uphold the highest standards of discipline and democratic conduct.

Abdullahi urged aspirants to support the delegates and conduct themselves peacefully and with dignity throughout the primary process. He emphasized that the ADC seeks to build a leadership culture that reflects the values it represents.

The party reassured its members of measures in place to ensure a free, fair, and transparent primary process, stating that the outcome will be judged historically, not merely by the emergence of a candidate. The ADC's National Working Committee (NWC) includes experienced members such as Prof. Yisa Gana and Maj. Gen. Adamu Jalingo (rtd), who are committed to ensuring the integrity of the electoral process.
