ADC Calls for Unity Ahead of Presidential Primaries Today

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has urged its members to uphold unity and discipline as they approach the presidential primaries scheduled for today. The party's statement, issued by its National Public Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi, emphasizes that the primaries represent a defining moment for the ADC and for Nigerians seeking credible political alternatives.

The ADC has three presidential aspirants: former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Minister of Transport Rotimi Amaechi, and economist Dr. Moham Hayatu-Deen.

The party encourages aspirants and delegates to conduct themselves peacefully and responsibly during the electoral process, reflecting the values they represent. Abdullahi acknowledged the competitive nature of democratic contests but stressed that the ultimate goal is to emerge as a stronger unit capable of offering credible leadership to Nigerians.

The ADC's presidential primaries will involve 8,809 electoral wards across the country, with the party resorting to open primaries if a consensus is not reached among the aspirants, in accordance with the Electoral Act 2026 amendment.
