ADC Demands Action from Tinubu After Maiduguri Bombings

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) condemned the deadly suicide bomb blasts that occurred in Maiduguri, Borno State, on Monday night, resulting in 23 deaths and hundreds of injuries. In a statement issued by Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently return to Nigeria and take decisive action to address the deteriorating security situation.

The party emphasized the need for the government to prioritize the safety of citizens and criticized the current administration for being preoccupied with political matters while serious security threats persist. The ADC expressed condolences to the victims' families and highlighted the courage of first responders.

The statement raised concerns about the ongoing insecurity in Maiduguri, which has experienced a resurgence of violence despite previous stabilization efforts. The ADC urged the government to accept responsibility for the loss of lives and to provide compensation to the victims' families, stressing that safeguarding lives is a fundamental duty of the government.
