Wike Did Not Threaten ADC Venue License, Owner Clarifies

The owner of De Rainbow Event Centre, Martina Yusuf, denied allegations that Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, threatened to revoke the venue's operating license in connection with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) national convention held on April 14 in Abuja. Yusuf held a press conference to refute claims that the ADC was pressured to cancel its booking, stating that the allegations were false and unverified.

She emphasized that the venue had not received any threats regarding its license and urged the public to disregard the unverified information circulating. The controversy arose from earlier claims made by ADC leadership, including former Senate President David Mark, who alleged that the venue was pressured to withdraw its services.

ADC spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi maintained that the party would proceed with the convention as scheduled, fulfilling its financial obligations under the formal agreement with the venue.
