Wike Refutes ADC Claims on Eagle Square Access Denial

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, dismissed claims made by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that they were denied access to Eagle Square in Abuja for their national convention. Wike clarified that no formal application had been submitted by the ADC, and the venue remains available for organizations that meet the necessary conditions.

He emphasized that the claims were unfounded and part of a usual attempt to gain public sympathy. Wike also addressed reports of structural issues at the Eagle Square, stating that while part of the roof was damaged due to severe winds, the main structure remained intact, and no casualties were reported.

He provided updates on various infrastructure projects in Abuja, including road and streetlight installations, with completion expected by mid-May 2023. Wike assured that contractors are on schedule to meet these deadlines.
