ADC Chairman Accuses APC of Undermining Opposition

Kola Ologbondiya, the national chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), made allegations against the All Progressives Congress (APC) regarding its intentions to weaken viable opposition in Nigeria. During an interview on Arise Television, Ologbondiya discussed the recent crisis within the ADC, which stemmed from the stripping of former Senate President David Mark of his position as national chairman.

He emphasized that the APC does not support a robust opposition and accused it of sponsoring protests against ADC leaders. Ologbondiya called for President Bola Tinubu to encourage unity rather than division within political parties.

He noted that the ADC's challenges reflect a broader issue in Nigerian democracy, which has been struggling since 1999. Ologbondiya expressed hope for growth in the political landscape leading up to the 2026 elections, rather than a decline into a one-party state.
