APC Criticizes ADC Over Leadership Crisis Misleading Claims

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the African Democratic Congress (ADC) of misleading Nigerians about its ongoing leadership crisis. Ajibola Basiru, speaking from the APC national secretariat in Abuja, dismissed calls for the removal of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman Prof.

Joash Amupitan, labeling such demands as undemocratic and a disregard for established procedures. The ADC is facing a leadership crisis that has intensified since the emergence of a new leadership committee led by David Mark in July 2023, following disputes over the tenure of former chairman Ralph Nwosu, whose official term ended in August 2022.

The APC claims that the ADC's internal conflicts could hinder its preparations for the 2027 general elections. Basiru further criticized David Mark's faction for its legal battles and failure to comply with court orders, asserting that the APC's President Bola Tinubu is not responsible for the ADC's predicament, which he described as self-inflicted.
