INEC Removes David Mark-led ADC NWC from Portal

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has removed the David Mark-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) from its portal. This action follows a court of appeal order to maintain the status quo ante bellum until the trial court resolves the matter.

INEC's statement, communicated by Chairman Mahmood Yakubu, emphasizes that the commission will refrain from taking any actions that could create a fait accompli or undermine the trial court's proceedings. The NWC, which includes five members led by Senator David Mark, was uploaded to the INEC portal on September 9, 2025.

The court order, referenced as appeal no CA/ABJ/145/2026, mandates that INEC must not grant any relief claims pending the determination of the case. The commission has reiterated its commitment to neutrality and compliance with judicial orders, urging political parties to conduct themselves in a manner that does not jeopardize the electoral timeline for the 2027 general elections.
