ADC Expels Members Amid Leadership Disputes in Abuja

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) expelled several members, including Leke Abejide and Nafiu Bala Gomb, due to alleged anti-party activities during a national convention held on Tuesday in Abuja. The decision was made following a disciplinary motion adopted by the party's leadership, led by Senator David Mark.

Bolaji Abdullahi, the party's national publicity secretary, stated that the expelled members acted contrary to the party's constitution and values. The ADC reiterated its commitment to uphold internal democracy and the rule of law, allowing members the freedom to explore political platforms.

In a related development, Dumebi Kachikwu's faction announced plans to hold its own national convention, criticizing the current leadership for alleged abuses of law and governance. Kachikwu condemned the ADC's leadership for instigating a breakdown of law and order in the country and called for a reevaluation of the Nigerian Bar Association's position on political party affairs.
