ADC Faction Names Kachikwu Presidential Candidate

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) faction has officially dissolved its National Working Committee (NWC) and named Dumebi Kachikwu as its presidential candidate. This decision was made during the party's national convention held in Abuja, where delegates adopted Kachikwu's candidacy through a voice vote.

The faction immediately replaced the existing NWC with a new set of national officers, including Kingsley Oggah as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Abdulkadir Bashir as National Chairman, Johnni Derek as National Secretary, Kennedi O. Odion as National Treasurer, Chief Amirigoy as National Financial Secretary, and Dr.

Chri Ugwu as National Legal Adviser. Kachikwu emphasized the need for strong leadership to address Nigeria's challenges, including insecurity, unemployment, and economic hardship.

Abdulkadir Bashir urged members to respect the party's constitution and work together to strengthen the party's structure. The ADC aims to position itself as a credible alternative ahead of the 2027 general elections, following the resignation of its founder Ralph Nwosu and the endorsement of David Mark as interim national chairman.
